First and foremost this site is not against Wyandotte police department or any other department. In fact click on the mission/Your rights link to see how appreciated Wyandotte police department is, in regards to them doing their job and being beyond fair in all areas that I have encountered. 99 percent of all officers do their jobs with dignity and respect.

This is about 1 person in the department making the rest of the respected officers look bad. This is about 1 person decision not to do the right thing when called upon over and over and believes that moral and ethical behavior is a option. And puts his own selfish needs and behaviors over that of his sworn duties as a civil servant. 

A former Swat officer chimes in on such behavior and has wrote a book on this subject:

I am a former swat officer who wrote a book that has a whole chapter devoted to exactly that. I thought you might find it interesting or recommend it to officers who may have a hard time remembering the proper way to conduct themselves.

The one chapter I spoke of is called "The 7 deadly sins of the officer". It was
inspired by one of my own partners and best friends who cheated with my wife and
ultimately caused the breakup of our marriage. That was a long time ago and a whole
other story nonetheless, but you may enjoy the book and hopefully officers will find
it as a reminder to properly wear the badge.

Sorry to hear about the bad stuff that you had happen.....of course, there are still
some mighty fine officers out there too.

Before beginning a discussion on the police oath of office and code of ethics, both must be defined. There is very little written on the police officer oath of office. I was forced to look to the political area on oaths and identified the origin from the United States Constitutional and Michigan Constitution.

Definitions of ethical behavior vary from generation to generation and from culture to culture. Generally ethical behavior includes the following qualities; honesty ,integrity, fairness, loyalty, kindness, courage generosity, compassion, doing good, doing right, and unselfishness. When people display these qualities, they are behaving ethically.

In my readings on ethics I have found there are three areas that have traditionally influenced people to do right or behave ethically, the family, religion, and government. The family is the first social organization that children belong to and the one from which they receive their first and most important lessons on ethically behavior.

The third influence on ethical behavior is government and its laws. Many people need the constraint of laws to behave legally and ethically. Others obey laws out of a moral duty to conform to societies' rules.but lets look at the area of ethical behavior in police officers. The following definitions are those most commonly used during ethics training for police officers

: Ethics is a code of values that guides our choices and actions and determines the purpose and course of our lives. Ethics is not a written code or credo, it is about what we do. (Southwestern Law Enforcement Institute,1995).Michael Josephson Ethical behavior is a standard of conduct when dealing with others that reflects a public trust attached to a police officer. Michigan Commission on Law Enforcement Standards (1998) Ethical concerns the study of right and wrong, duty, responsibility and personal character. Ethics is concerned with moral duty, what is morally right and wrong, etc..

Close and Meier (1995) Police officers must be held to a higher standard of moral and ethical values then is expected of the average person. Police officers need the trust and respect of the public to perform their duties and responsibilities effectively. This trust does not come without the officer knowing and understanding his sworn oath and code of ethics.

"Because God is infinite and the creator of all, understanding God is the most important goal in life. Those who understand God will desire good for others and behave ethically toward them.”(Spenoza, 1995).

CONCLUSION

Can integrity be taught? Can a police agency foster ethical values in its employees? I believe the answer to this question is yes. We have seen in the past that fear of punishment alone has rarely been enough to change behavior. Laws and regulations are also, not the answer to keeping behavior above the bottom line of ethics.Training is. We can start by leading by example. A supervisor’s attitude of "do as I say not as I do" cannot be tolerated.

The code of ethics and oath of office are two issues that most police agencies do not address. The administration should define and implement the oath and code as living documents, showing a commitment to what they stand for. All police agencies throughout the country should be required to adopt the code of ethics and oath as part of there polices. Officers should be educated and trained in early detection of ethical issues. Self-interest tends to impede one's ethical awareness.

"Corporal oath is one taken by the form of laying the hand on or kissing a  copy of the gospels. The terms corporal oath and solemn oath are synonymous, and an oath taken with the uplifted hand is properly described by either term in an indictment for perjury.". The officers must understand when "swearing" to something, they are offering themselves, all that they are, as collateral. This stresses the idea that the department values integrity and honesty.

This site is dedicated to those police officers who seem to think they can help themselves to your spouse. Developed and created as a place to report your local home-wrecking cop. Our goal is to make public how our tax dollars are being spent paying these officers (while on duty) as they mess around with our spouses. But with forums and sites like this one, at least we can keep track of these home-wrecking cops and start making a difference. These officers often break up families and homes, and use their power and authority for the wrong reason. 

These so-called officers have no regard for the children in these families which they are sworn to protect and destroying their belief in what being a officer really means.

How is this for a excuse when confronted with why he was texting my wife (2 months and 3000 textes later) and seeing her everyday where she worked (waitress)  " I am just a very helpful cop, I am concerned about YOUR WIFE finding a apartment and feel the need to help her do this for 18 hours a day for the last 2 months from 6 A.M to after Midnight It is obviously none of your business, and concentrate on your job not other peoples wives.

Quite a effort for a officer to make for another person wife!!!! After personally speaking to him after the 2 months he insured me now knowing we are trying to get past this (affair) he would no longer talk to her. Yeah ok how is about 10 days of silence before again going on with this distructive and careless behavior for another few months. Not even answering his phone when confronted with the second discovery of his continued behavior. This officer hides behind his badge .  He cause all 3 of my kids to be fearful of police in the city they are growing up in.  Bravo you should be proud of the fact 3 young children think of you as the evil person who destroyed our family.

 What exactly has he lost? What are the consequence for his behavior?

"There are a number of good officers who realize that the authority they are given comes with tremendous responsibility and practice good unbiased police work. Those that do not understand that they are here to serve, rather than Deserve something, reap what they sow"

 

Unfortunately when some cops put on their uniform and their badge they think they are above the Law. They are some how transformed into SUPERMAN and GOD all rolled into one!

 

This site is created in dedication to Officer Sabo a BAD example Wyandotte (Michigan) Police Officer and a reprsentative of the prestigious MTOA where he is a board member of and is a Tactical Trustee  who consciously and with malice choose to carry on with a married women even after being told to leave my wife alone several times.  Despite the pleas of her husband and warning from his Chief of Police continued his destructive ways and kept on texting up to 18 hours a day for 4 months a majority of the time when we were living together. Thousands upon thousands of textes from 6 AM to midnight. Many of these thousands of text messages while on duty apparently for the purposes of being on guard and protecting our community from criminals. How did he find the time?

In addition this officer felt it was acceptable practice to discuss information about what daily duties he was performing with my wife.  On top of all this he even had lunch with my 11 year old daughter while on duty and we where still living together. Or the fact he then discussed my prior or lack of police record with the women I have spent 12 year with. My 14 year old daughter also seen very suggested and inappropritate textes he sent in the middle of the day which has caused great pain to her trying to make sense of what she read. As my kids also tell me how he pulls up to my wifes car as my wife and kids get around the city laundry matt, family dollar, on the street or even turning on his overhead lights to get her attention with my kids in the car.

These are not private issues when these actions are done while these so-called officers are on our dime.  We as taxpayers should will not tolerate these so called officers to continue in the name of the law not to uphold the oath they swore to uphold and to carry on in such a destructive and careless manner.
